My groups came out wrong
Check the rule’s priority first - only Essential rules are guaranteed - then look at the other arrangements the same generate run produced before regenerating blind.

An Essential rule is never broken - the app throws out any arrangement that would breach it before it ever reaches you. So if two players who should be kept apart end up together, check the rule is actually set to Essential rather than a softer priority; anything below Essential is weighed against everything else, not guaranteed, and can lose out to a bigger constraint elsewhere in the draw.
Two rules that cannot both be true
Sometimes the groups look wrong because the rules you set genuinely cannot all be satisfied together - five players marked keep-apart from each other with only four groups to put them in, say. The app checks for this before generating and tells you which rule to loosen, so if a draw came out at all, every Essential rule in it was honoured; something further down the priority list is what gave way to make that possible.
Try one of the other arrangements first
A single generate run works out several fair drafts, not just the one you were shown. If Viable alternatives appears under the schedule, open it - these are other arrangements that scored within 5% of the recommended one, each labelled with what actually differs between them (who moves group, which pairing splits or comes back together), so you can pick the trade-off you prefer with one tap instead of regenerating and hoping. If nothing there suits, Regenerate runs a fresh set.
Read the compliance score before assuming the worst
A compliance score (see the glossary) only reflects rules marked Essential or the priority just below it - a Nice to Have miss does not move the number at all. So a low score means a rule you marked as mattering a lot was traded off somewhere, not that anything went wrong with your softer preferences. Tap the compliance pill above the schedule to open the report and see exactly which rule it is before deciding what to loosen.
