Confirm the course numbers before you open scoring

Why you are asked

Every playing handicap on the sheet is worked out from the slope, course rating and par stored against the round. If one of those was typed wrong, or copied from the wrong tee, every score that follows is quietly wrong too. So the moment you select Open scoring on a round with real numbers already entered, you get one screen showing them - a chance to check before anyone plays.

1. Select Open scoring for the round.
2. Check the slope, course rating and par shown for each tee against the real scorecard.
3. Select Confirm if they match, or Skip if you do not have the card to hand.

What Skip does

Skip opens scoring exactly the same as Confirm does. The only difference is that nobody has recorded checking the numbers, so players see a note on their scoring page and the leaderboard saying the course numbers are not confirmed yet, and that handicaps there may be a little off until you have checked them.

Fixing numbers once scoring has started

Once a round is open, the course name, tees and hole details lock - changing them without a record would quietly move scores already entered. If a number does turn out to be wrong, select Correct course data on the round. You give a short reason for the change, and the course name or a tee slope, course rating or par can be updated. The scores already entered are kept - a correction is not a delete and redo.

Every correction is recorded with who made it, when, why, and what changed, so the trail is there if a score is ever questioned.
